Leadership Academy
for High Potential Managers
  1. Initial Situation/Challenge:

    Our Partner is an organization employing around five hundred people in Poland, selling advanced industrial equipment. Most employees have a technical background. The management structure is relatively flat, but certain individuals have been identified as crucial for the organization’s proper functioning and potential successors to the current managerial staff, who will be retiring in the coming years. The management aimed to prepare high-potential individuals (Talents) for independent managerial roles—focusing on people management, leadership, maintaining authority, and business area management. These individuals were expected to exhibit entrepreneurial qualities, view the company holistically, and understand the interdependencies between different departments. Until now, their expertise had been quite narrow, and they had limited opportunities to observe the company’s operations from a broader perspective.

  1. Implementation Method:

    A development program was designed to focus on knowledge about the functioning of a modern organization and people management. The program lasted 9 months and included workshop modules, webinars, practical implementation tasks, and cross-training.

  1. Results:

    Over twenty individuals participated in the program, occupying both specialist and some lower managerial positions, primarily in logistics and sales. The desired business competencies of the Talents were strengthened, particularly their understanding of the interdependencies and impacts between their areas of operation and the functioning of the entire organization. Some participants received promotions. The program was treated as a pilot with the intention of replicating it in subsequent years.
