Developing leadership competences, working with teams in a technology environment and strengthening leaders’ self-awareness – these are the main pillars of the “Leadership Academy”, an original programme prepared by Kozminski University for Jit Team. The project is an example of how a university and business can jointly create modern, tailor-made leadership development programmes that respond to the real needs of organisations.
The “Leadership Academy” is a multi-stage development process designed for managers and leaders at Jit Team – a technology company specialising in IT services, software engineering, and consulting. Participants will take part in a series of workshops, mentoring sessions and implementation classes covering key areas of contemporary leadership: communication, delegation, motivation, change management and the development of strategic thinking. It is a comprehensive development programme spread over two years of gaining knowledge and honing leadership skills in practice.
The programme is based on the learning-by-doing method – participants analyse real challenges they face in their teams and build solutions that can be implemented in practice. An integral part of the process are also individual coaching sessions and leadership style diagnostic tools, which enable each participant to plan their own development path.
“A tailor-made leadership development programme is no longer a ‘nice to have’, but a necessity. The labour market and technologies are changing so dynamically that organisations need leaders who can combine hard competences with empathy, self-awareness, and the ability to inspire teams. That is why we create solutions that support companies in shaping leadership aligned with their culture and goals,” emphasizes Aleksandra Młotkowska, Coordinator for Corporate Training and Programs at Kozminski University.
A partnership built on trust and development
The cooperation between Kozminski University and Jit Team fits into a broader trend of university–business partnerships aimed at combining education with practice. Both partners focus on similar values: trust, responsibility and the development of future competences rooted in practice and real-life experience.
“Investing in leaders means investing in the future of the company. A well-designed development programme allows us not only to strengthen managers’ competences, but also to create an environment in which people feel a sense of purpose, influence and space for action. This is exactly what distinguishes true leadership,” says Bartosz Cieśliński, Vice-President of the Management Board and Co-Founder of Jit Team.
The classes delivered within the “Leadership Academy” are run by management practitioners – business owners and corporate managers – as well as trainers from Kozminski Executive Business School who combine academic experience with many years of work in business environments. Thanks to this, the programme connects theory with real-life challenges and provides participants with tools they can immediately use in their everyday work.
“When looking for the right partner, we wanted the people running the classes and workshops to understand the perspective of our employees and to guide them in how to apply management theories in practice, with a strong focus on case studies and real-life examples from the industry. It was also very important for us to be able to adapt the programme content to our needs and the specifics of our sector,” says Monika Golly, HR Business Partner at Jit Team, who coordinates the programme on the company’s side.
Practice, reflection, transformation
The “Leadership Academy” is more than a series of training sessions – it is a transformational process whose goal is to develop integrated leadership based on self-awareness, trust, and responsibility. Each module ends with a practical implementation task in participants’ teams, which makes it possible to translate knowledge into concrete actions within the organisation.
The classes are delivered in a hybrid format – combining in-person meetings with interactive online sessions. This approach allows participants to effectively combine learning with professional duties while flexibly adjusting the pace of work to the organisation’s rhythm.
“We support the development of leaders in companies that consciously build a values-based culture. Regardless of the industry, effective leadership today requires the ability to communicate a vision, work with emotions and create an environment based on shared responsibility. Management education plays a key role in this process,” adds Klaudia Fatah-Zarzycka, Director for Corporate Training and Programs at Kozminski University.
Leaders of the future – a shared mission
The joint project of Kozminski University and Jit Team is yet another example of cooperation showing how management education responds to the needs of modern organisations. The programme is part of the university’s long-term strategy, one of whose priorities is to support the development of leadership competences in various sectors of the economy – from technology and finance to creative industries.
The “Leadership Academy” is designed not only to foster the development of individual competences, but also to build a coherent leadership culture based on authenticity and an understanding of the leader’s role in a changing world. Its participants will become ambassadors of modern management that combines effectiveness with responsibility and empathy.
